Most popular areas for properties in Estepona, Spain

Estepona has several distinct areas; the Old Town, Estepona Marina and Port, West Estepona and East Estepona (the New Golden Mile). Each has its own character and unique attributes and attractions.

  • Old Town: Most of the city centre has been pedestrianised to create a more pleasant traffic free area, and has become a popular location to buy property in Estepona. The main property are traditional white washed terraced houses.

  • New Golden Mile, Estepona, starts at Guadalmina (San Pedro de Alcantara) and ends Estepona’s city centre.   • Estepona port and marina, is a busy, vibrant and picturesque and bustling with restaurants and bars, plus a market at the weekend. There is also a good range of properties, from apartments, townhouses and villas in the local vicinity.

  • West Estepona, is considered to be one of most interesting areas for investment property at the moment in Estepona due to the extensive investment in new luxury hotels and the exclusive golf resort Finca Cortesin. Other notable areas are Bahia Dorada, Buenas Noches, Arroyo Vaquero, Estepona Golf, Arena Beach and Valle Romano.

What to do in Estepona

There are many parks, playgrounds, beaches and beautiful countryside around Estepona blessed with all-year-round sunshine that provide a superb environment to enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle.

  • Beaches

There are 17 sandy beaches, spanning 17kms, perfect for making sandcastles or sunbathing and there is also a public beach volleyball court. El Cristo beach is particularly popular with families due to the shallow water and lifeguards. 

  • Explore the countryside

If you prefer exploring the countryside, there are many organised hiking, cycling or horse-riding tours or trails.

  • Water sports and boat trips

If you fancy getting wet there are plenty of opportunities for water sports including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, wakeboarding, windsurfing, pedal boats and for the older kids, Jet Ski hire.  If you want to get close to the marine life you can take a boat trip to go whale or dolphin watching from Estepona marina. 

  • Horse riding

  • Selwo Aventura

If you prefer your animals to be more on the wild side, on the New Golden Mile Estepona, you’ll find Selwo Aventura, Natural Animal Park. This is a great day out for the family, and it also hosts Easter Camps and other exciting educational activities for children.

  • Golf in Estepona

Estepona is home to some of the best golf courses on the Costa del Sol, many with golf academies and driving ranges which are suitable for all level of player, from pro to beginner.
